Geez! Have they no shame, those thieving monsters!? I guess if they're the Satan's offspring, that would be a resounding no. =) I hope your attack on their main hideout has seriously reduced the population. Have you tried using live traps too? Our neighbor uses those for the squirrels (they're our own version of rat I guess) and when he traps one he dumps the whole cage in a bucket of water. Squirrel done. I don't know if rats will go into a cage. Peanut butter works for the squirrels, and mice too. Maybe rats as well!
I'm going to try the live trapping and some more electric fencing. But right now, with the goat due to give birth any day, I probably won't be able to get to it before the tree is completely decimated.
